Visa Details: The Temporary Resident Visa is valid for one year and can be renewed for up to four years. When you go the economic solvency route, the income requirements increase annually. So it’s best to secure this sooner rather than later. However, the Mexican government also have the lesser-known Regularization program (RNE) that has no income requirements but instead requires you to have visited Mexico between 2015 and 2023. After 4 years of residency, you will be eligible for permanent residency. With the RNE program you only need to pay government fees.

You can also gain permanent residency if you give birth to a baby born in Mexico, this is the route that we took. There are no income requirements through this route, you only need to pay government fees.

Income Requirement: Approximately $4000 per month or a savings balance of $35,000. There is no income requirement for the regulrization (RNE) program.
